Winner of this years coveted EEEgr Member of the Year Award 2010
Press Release.....
Member of the Year Award delights Paul
Paul Spinks and his Active Technologies company have received the first ever Member of the Year Award from EEEGR (the East of England Energy Group).
Launched five years ago by Paul and colleague Kevin Whitefield to keep the Lotus talents in the region when the car group was shedding jobs, the company has gone from strength to strength and now employs 24 engineers.
It is listed in the latest EDP Future 50 of companies which earmarks companies of great potential from the area.
The success of the business, based at Hethel Engineering Centre, and its involvement with EEEGR proved a hit with many of the 340 members who voted it home ahead of two other finalists.
“I always go to EEEGR’s Southern North Sea and summer conferences, contribute to the newsletter and website and keep in touch on a regular basis. I’m delighted to win but it came as something of a surprise,” said Paul.
“Norfolk is a great place to live and work and has a tremendous resource of engineering skills and other talents in the oil and gas and renewables fields.”
Beaten finalists were Fraser Offshore Ltd and Pathfinder Team Consulting Ltd.
John Best, EEEGR chief executive, said: “All three finalists were selected by the EEEGR executive because of their continued commitment and enthusiasm to the group. To us they were all winners, so we put it to the members for the final vote.”
